My Prices

Why I Price the Way I Do:

My pricing is based upon the exposure that the finished design will have.  For instance, if you are a small business needing a new logo, business cards and letterhead, and you only have a few hundred customers, I will charge a lower rate than if you represent a large multinational corporation with five hundred employees, needing a full corporate identity system.  The reason for this is that good design breeds good business.  If you have a great logo that effectively communicates who you are and what your vision is, while simultaneously reaching your target demographic, that logo will reap tremendous benefits for your business.  Your image among the target demographic will be improved, your name recognition will increase and the rewards that you will reap will continue for the life of the business, even if the logo is changed down the road.  That well-designed logo then is an excellent investment, and the price you pay for it should reflect that. Therefore, the more exposure my design will get, the more it will benefit you, and the more it is worth to you. In addition, I adhere to the sound business practices and pricing standards of the Better Business Bureau, of which I am an Accredited Member, and of the Graphic Artists Guild, of which I am also a Full Member.

I give significant discounts to churches and other not-for-profit organizations on all my services.

Identity Design Prices:

Corporate Identity Design:

This service is a comparatively lengthy process which involves several stages of development and implementation.  The end result is a cohesive brand for your organization which includes a logo, letterheads, business cards, corporate color scheme, corporate typography definitions, a brand guide and long-term marketing plan.  Because of the wide range of needs in corporate identity design, the pricing ranges from just $10,000.00 for a small business all the way up to $250,000.00 for multinational corporations, depending on the needs of the company, the size of the company, and the amount of exposure the new identity will get.

Logo Design:

Pricing for logos is completely dependent on information I gather during the initial consultation. $2,500.00 to $10,000.00 for a logo design, including varations, and multiple revisions for each variation.

Logo design is all about communication. I define a good logo as “A successful translation of an organization’s vision, goals, values, mission and corporate culture into the visual language.”

Identity design is essentially an extension of logo design. In the traditional sense, a corporate identity system includes a logo, rules for typography and color schemes, letterheads, business cards, website refresh/redesign, new signage, and advertising to display the new identity to the marketplace. However, the term “identity design” has come to also refer to a much more basic system of a new logo, and whatever supplementary elements are already used by the company. For instance, it could be a new logo and typeface, plus new business cards that showcase the new look, and a few updated graphics on the company’s website. Other businesses may only need a new logo, typeface system, letterhead and business card, while still another may only need a new website – yet it could be called Identity Design and not Web Design if the new website is a showcase for a new identity.

Web Design Prices:

Small “Brochure Style” site:

Static HTML code with an attractive, easy-to-navigate design.  Includes a Home page, About Us page, Contact Us page, and up to 3 additional pages for $900.00 to $2,000.00. Additional pages will increase the cost.  All maintenance and updates have to be done by Trend Setting Design @ $30.00/hour with a 1 hour minimum charge.  Most updates take less than an hour to complete.

Medium Size CMS-driven site:

This site uses a database to store the website’s files, and features an extremely easy-to-use administrative area so that anyone who is given access may update the site.  Price includes training in using the CMS, and an attractive, easy-to-navigate design that will be packaged as a template, allowing you to easily change the look of the site in the future.  This option is the best fit for most small businesses that need to make frequent updates to their website.  $2,500.00 to $8,000.00, depending upon size of company, amount of exposure the website will get, and amount of specialized functionality built into the website.  Some options include a e-commerce webstore, blog, photo/video gallery and more.

Large Size CMS-driven site and E-Commerce site:

This site uses a database to store the website’s files, and features a highly-extendable CMS with unlimited room for growth.  Some available options for this type of site include large e-commerce stores, social networking (ie Facebook, Myspace, Youtube, etc.), chat forums, photo/video galleries, and pretty much anything you can dream up. All maintenance and updating is done via a visual interface, with word processor-style buttons and menus.  Price includes 2 training sessions and a month of complimentary support.  The design of the Large Size CMS site is also packaged as a template, which allows you to change the look of the site in the future without affecting the content.  $7,500.00 to $20,000.00.  For E-Commerce sites, I use an integrated store which can interface with UPS, FedEx, US Mail, Authorize.net, Paypal, ECheck and more.  It also is integrated into the backend of the site, so you can easily maintain your entire site without having a separate store website.

Blog Site:

Utilizes a very easy-to-use administrative area and Wordpress blogging software – the most popular, powerful and extendable blogging software out there. My blog site service includes installation of Wordpress, creation of Categories, static pages, installation of some of the best plugins available, and Search Engine Optimization. $900.00 to $2,000.00 depending upon level of customization requested and amount of content entry needed.

All Web Design packages receive discounts when combined with a Corporate Identity Design.

All but the “Small Brochure Style site” packages include a Content Management System (CMS) which allows you and/or anyone you choose to take over the maintenance of the website after completion. The CMS you receive allows you to easily add, remove or update all the content on the website without knowing any code. You will need a basic level of computer knowledge. If you have used Microsoft Windows, Mac OS or Linux, you already know everything necessary. I include training with my CMS-driven websites to acclimate you to how the system works. I am always available to help you after the job is done, and I can take over maintenance of the website if you do not have the time or desire to do it yourself.

Advertising Design Prices:

Postcard

For standard or oversided postcards not being used for direct mail, I charge between $300.00 to $1,000.00, depending upon the size of the audience. For cards used in direct mail advertisements, I charge between $350.00 and $1,500.00, also depending upon the size of the target audience.

Poster

Posters are priced by exposure, and by the number of layout sizes requested. For example, if you need a Tabloid-sized poster (11 x 17 inches) as well as a Letter-sized poster (8.5 x 11 inches), I will charge an additional amount for the second size. The reason for this is that different sizes use different aspect ratios, and therefore the artwork has to be significantly adjusted and redesigned to fit the new size. One poster size: $200.00 to $800.00, depending upon how much exposure the design will have. Each additional size will add $75.00.

Indoor and/or Outdoor Banner

Pricing assumes full color vinyl output. For restricted colors or non-vinyl materials, price will increase. Indoor Banner: $200.00 to $1,200.00 depending upon output size and exposure. Outdoor Banner: $500.00 to $2,500.00 depending upon roadside traffic at the display location.

Publication Advertisement Prices:

Magazine, newspaper and other publication advertisement design prices range from $200.00 to $350.00 for a quarter-page ad, to $400.00 to $2,000.00 for a full page ad. If the advertisement is in a black and white section of the publication, I will apply a discount to the price.

Billboard

For electronic display billboards, $500.00 to $2,000.00, depending upon company size and amount of time on display per hour. Animation will add to the cost, and must be discussed for pricing information. For traditional print display billboards, $800.00 to $3,000.00, depending upon company size and amount of time on display.
